Once upon a time, in the frosty wonderland of Michigan, Christy and Steven met. What began with casual chats, spontaneous ice cream runs (yes, even in the snow), and Great British Baking Show sushi dates slowly unraveled into something full of laughter, curiosity, and just the right amount of delightful chaos.

Their friendship grew quickly, fueled by a shared love for the outdoors—whether hiking forest trails, paddle-boarding across quiet lakes, or simply spending time near the water. But before things could truly take off, Steven faced one final (and furry) test: winning over Christy’s tiny but mighty Shih Tzu, Mei-Mei. With belly rubs, gourmet treat selections, and endless patience, he passed with flying colors. Eventually, even the dog agreed that he was the one (especially when snacks were involved).

A few years later, while exploring the coast in Monterey Bay, surrounded by sea otters, sea lions, and the salty ocean breeze, Steven asked the big question. Christy replied with a surprised and slightly suspicious “…yes?”, but it was a yes all the same.
